Since the comments on the original post are closed, I'm giving my two cents here.
I’d like to address some of your points.
“Like most women, I have kind, thoughtful,
charming male friends whose perpetual, unchosen single status baffles me.”
I noticed you didn’t put “smart” to their list
of adjectives. Perhaps the smart ones exclude the “unchosen” part of their
single status.
“When did you last hear a woman complain,
either on TV or in real life: ‘I behaved like a polite, normal, human being,
drove him home in my Mercedes and yet he never called me again! He’s gone off
with some slut who has a pushbike!’”
All the time, actually. Except, of course, for
the part where she behaves “like a polite, normal, human being” and drive him
home in her Mercedes: women don’t think they need any of that to deserve a call
the next day. They don’t think they need to do anything except being women. I’m
most surprised she used “calling again” as an example, since it’s a cliché
colective pet peeve for generic women.
I have more female friends than male ones, and
I dealt a lot with women not being able to even explain to themselves how a man
can possibly not be interested on them. Fuck, they even made a movie about how hard is for women to get this concept.
A rejected man can be a crybaby who goes on and
on about how unfair reality treat his penis; he even might get dangerous. But a
rejected woman just can’t deal with it. As in “this is not even possible”. They
don’t say things exactly like this “nice guy” bullshit, because women see
themselves like buyers, not goods. They have the choosing rights. So, when the
chosen ones (even you use this term to describe your fabulous single friends)
don’t care about your magnanimous opinion about their suitability for mating, they
lose their reference. This kind of thing hits them really hard on their self-esteem,
and not most of them deal with it in a healthy manner.
I have a wannabe stalker annoying me since 2004,
who can’t even imagine how can I not be interested in her offers of free kinky
submissive uncommited sex.
Of course, not all women are like this. As not
all men complain about “friendzone”. You, people who present the world in such
a falsely dichotomized categorized way, women and men alike, are all a bunch of
whiners who shouldn’t be reproducing for the sake of society and the species.
“But I suspect the ‘Nice Guys’, the men who set
themselves up as false friends like Leo Stevens, will end their days staring
miserably at the empty passenger seat in their custom colour Audi.”
No, they won’t, unless they want it this way. If having
a relationship is a priority, they’ll have it, as long as
there’s nothing monstrous about their appearances or personality. Perhaps even then, it'd be just not a given.
They’ll probably have to lower their standards and make concessions, but stupid uninteresting boring ugly asshole people marry all the time. Men who beat women have no problem finding dates. It’s well known that rapists in prisons receive marriage and sex proposals from women. A man in their thirties wealthy enough to have an Audi only stays alone if he’s willing to. This sentence is wishful thinking and doesn’t relate to reality. Kinda like a good sect of nowadays Feminism.
